Pastor Says: Women Sexually Assault Men By Dressing Provocatively

Carl Gallups, a right-wing pastor and conspiracy theorist who spoke at Trump campaign rallies during the 2016 election, interviewed Mike Shoesmith. Shoesmith recently wrote a piece in response to the Hollywood sexual assault scandals arguing that women who wear “sexually suggestive clothing around a man” are legally guilty of sexual assault.

Mike Shoesmith has written an article called “The Woman-on-Man Sexual Assault Epidemic! More Serious Than You Might Think!” One part of it reads:

If a woman wears sexually suggestive clothing around a man is that not also sexual assault? Men are visually stimulated and unwanted stimulation should meet the basic definition of assault. I am not condoning bad behavior by men but women need to understand that by walking around in their little sister's skirt they are guilty of indecent visual assault on a man's imagination which does cause mental anguish and torment especially on men who really are trying to live in harmony and respect toward women; something made more difficult when every ripple and curve are exposed to the men around you.

When a man sees a naked or partially dressed woman a chemical reaction happens in his brain. Neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin are released, giving him an involuntary surge of pleasure... involuntary! Notice the word ‘involuntary’ … Men are in a state of constant sexual assault by women who either don't understand the severity of what they are doing because it's cute and they like the attention, or worse - they do know the feelings it stirs and like the control they have over men - Shoesmith said during the interview.

Gallups agreed, saying that if a man were to parade around the workplace “in a very sexually suggestive outfit,” women would immediately file sexual harassment claims. He demanded to know, therefore, “why wouldn’t it be sexual assault” when a woman does it.

“Men are responsible for fighting off this chemical sexual assault in their brains,” Shoesmith agreed. “Men are responsible for fighting that off every day.”

According to Galups and Shoesmith, men are really like animals and not in a good way and women need to be punished for that. Why do people have ability to think then to control and channel their instincts? It’s not a woman’s responsibility to control a man’s impulses. There is no justification for violence, and that's what these people need to understand.

What a depressing article. The fact that some people still consider this a genuine point of view in 2017 shows that Devo were correct: we are de-evolving as a species.

It seems that it's not just Christians who have views in this arena.

So this 'Pastor' assumes that poor men cannot control their actions. Victim blaming ad nauseam.

Maybe there are some repressed societies where men and women are separated young and have no contact with each other that leads to such reprehensible interactions after puberty, but not in the West were assumingly this cretin resides.

In ANY society it is NEVER the victims fault.

The only issue with these comments can be they are made by the wrong type cleric. We have already indulged others in the community who hold there is a concept such as modest/immodest dress, and we have already been forced to agree that it is for males to adjudicate this area. They have decided it is the females fault for triggering the reaction in the male. Why cant others avail themselves of this right in the interest of diversity and inclusivity?Bring on the taharrush gamea!

Certain faiths can be used in mitigation for this area of assault:
