Drug Addiction Is Not What We're Told It Is, And Nor Are The Causes

Organized Rage hosts a televised interview with Johann Hari in which the journalist tackles the conventional wisdom on drugs.

OpenDemocracy interviews Johann Hari, journalist and author of "Chasing the Scream". Filmed in London, 2016. This is part of an editorial partnership between openDemocracy and CELS, an Argentine human rights organisation with a broad agenda that includes advocating for drug policies respectful of human rights. The partnership coincides with the United Nations General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on drugs.

Johann's talk is extremely pertinent, especially when he points out how public opinion was moulded into accepting the war on drugs is a good thing, despite all the evidence that proves it's been a disastrous and destructive idea. He also looks at how racism comes into the picture and not only in the USA, but also here in the UK.
