GARC Calls For Community Talks On Crown Forces.

The Greater Ardoyne Residence Collective is writing to a number of community groups in Greater Ardoyne. In the letter GARC invites for bilateral dialogue Ardoyne Youth Club, Ardoyne Youth Providers Forum, Ardoyne Association, Marrowbone Community Association and Ardoyne Fleádh Cheoil. The purpose of the dialogue is  to ascertain the position of the various groups on the matter of support for British state forces.

Dear Chairperson,

The Greater Ardoyne Residents Collective (GARC) in its capacity as the largest residents’ organisation in the Greater Ardoyne area requests a meeting with your organisation. We are holding a series of meetings with Youth Clubs, Community Associations, Youth Providers and Community Groups for the purpose of clarifying their position and relationship directly or indirectly with the PSNI/MI5 or their affiliates.

The continued mistreatment and abuse of Ardoyne residents, its youth & children by the PSNI and MI5 is well documented. The use by the PSNI on a daily basis of draconian stop & search, house raids, threats and harassment of the nationalist/republican community is an abuse of power which amounts to a campaign of intimidation, hatred and psychological torture against the population of Ardoyne. Members of our community suffer serious physical assaults, are verbally abused, or have their homes raided and wrecked, their children traumatised, personal property confiscated or destroyed, in an attempt to terrorise residents into the acceptance of British rule through the submission of their Irish identity and desire for a united Ireland.

The unethical and immoral methods used by the PSNI/MI5 to recruit informers and agents range from blackmail, bribery, bullying and threats. They usually target vulnerable young people who are naive and susceptible to pressure and lies. The Greater Ardoyne area is under nightly saturation and transformed into a highly Militarised zone, with surveillance from heavily armed crown force personnel, armoured vehicles and aircraft, residents are harassed or inconvenienced at every chance, their daily lives disrupted, all just to facilitate the illegal sectarian encampment in Twaddell Avenue.

This type of unjust, improper and despicable behaviour by the British Crown forces is presently, as it was in the past, accepted and excused by some sections and organisations within the nationalist community for their own self interest or financial gain. When Community Associations, Youth Clubs, Youth Providers or Community Groups proactively cooperate, promote or facilitate the security forces it is usually to the detriment of the community and its residents.

The PSNI/MI5 exploit every opportunity to falsely portray themselves in a positive light, this they usually do by the direct or indirect funding of programmes or events. This has been proven by revelations of the PSNI/MI5 recruitment of children as informants and their infiltration of community based organisations for the purpose of intelligence gathering.

Those groups who naively think that they will retain their independence will be sadly mistaken, their credibility will be destroyed and their name forever tarnished. The large number of complaints received by GARC from concerned Ardoyne residents about the behaviour of the PSNI/MI5 makes any further association with these discredited, bias, corrupt and sectarian bodies unacceptable to our community.

The Greater Ardoyne Residence Collective will be inviting for bilateral dialogue Ardoyne Youth Club, Ardoyne Youth Providers Forum, Ardoyne Association, Marrowbone Community Association and Ardoyne Fleádh Cheoil, to ascertain their position on this matter. These meetings will be fully transparent, with the invitation to each organisation and their reply being published on Social Media. In the interest of openness and accountability the content and outcome of the meetings will also be published. This will give each organisation the opportunity to clarify their position for the community and prevent any future misunderstanding, misinterpretation or speculation about their support and stance in relation to the PSNI and MI5. This series of meetings will conclude with a number of publications and public meetings.

The failure of an organisation to positively and promptly respond to our request for a meeting to clarify their position shall leave the community and ourselves with no alternative but to conclude that the organisation is an active supporter and promoter of the PSNI/MI5 and their actions in the Greater Ardoyne area.

We look forward to a speedy response pertaining to our request.

Yours Sincerely,

Greater Ardoyne Residents Collective Working Committee.

The tone of the invite makes it sound more like an ultimatum. For that reason it might not produce the response that a less in your face invite might.

Id sooner support SF (as bad as that may seem) than this bunch of muppets. some elements of society ostensibly portray Ardoyne as the last stronghold of republicanism, Belfast's Wounded Knee. The fact is outside a small minority who ponder such tripe few in the wider nationalist community give a feck about garc or their opinions.

Emmett if you lived in Ardoyne or you were a Republican who hasn't gone along with the ....let's all pretend scenario, then you might seriously think differently. If GARC had not been formed, and fashioned by the hard working community activists that began and remain at the helm....Ardoyne would have mirrored an area under a Sinn Fein strangle hold such as my area Clonard.
Unlike Ardoyne, Clonard is controlled and our Orange marches stage managed by Sinn Fein's puppets. Macker's well used term the Rafia came to full fruition in our small area...this area may not been described as 'Wounded Knee' either, but it was an area where a few IRA guns prevented absolute carnage. Today our wee proud area is perhaps more oppressed by fascist pseudo Republicans than it was under the Orange diktat....if you want to witness tripe in motion come and live in an area where it's operating full frontal, and then you might rethink about applying, your very limited knowledge on the subject to Ardoyne.

Leave it out Mrs Perry, there are worse ares of Dublin and Limerick. We need to stop trying to monopolising oppression amongst various elements of the working class. I'm well aware of the problems faced by locals in ardoyne and further afield. The fact is garc and other micro groups would be as bad as the provies given half a chance. Say a wrong word about the wrong group in ardoyne your likely to get a punch full in the mouth. These groups mirror the state in wanting to control the public. The posit their interests as the best interests of wider society when in fact they are feared more then respected. Which community group in ardoyne decided to paint over the GAA mural without consent of the community? Was that garc or rnu or some other micro gang. Joke the lot of it.

Really??
Well I can't think of any worse places on the island of Ireland than either Larne or Tigers Bay.
If the liquid cheapo ( I mean finest British engineering ) olympic swimming pools of the most dangerous nuclear waste in Europe ever spring a leak.
I will nominate new storage facilities for Larne and Tigers bay.
In fact I'd rather live in sellafield than Larne.

Leave what out Emmet, the fact that I pointed out, that what you would know about GARC would fit neatly onto the back of a stamp.
No one alluded to the monopolising of oppression amongst the working class! I was speaking about you making the suggestion' I'd sooner support Sinn Fein' I was pointing out to you, that those very people are now worse than the oppressors they promised to rid us of.
Now how you square that circle is a matter for yourself Mr Grogan. However making generalisations that are baseless without providing any evidence to back up your analysis ,is you just using the same ostensible jargon you accuse others of doing.
That's what seperates people like me from people like you Mr Grogan I speak about what I know. I could fill this page with facts to back up what I've stated, could you?

On an end note. It's Ms Perry to you!!

Emmet,

your argument falls on its arse right out the gate.

We need to stop trying to monopolising oppression amongst various elements of the working class.

You make a competition out of oppressed areas claiming there are worse in Dublin and Limerick, which is a contradiction of your monopolising. Oppressed areas equally share the same symptoms that deprivations bring no matter where they are. There is no such thing as a better or worse deprived area.

Emmet,

SF have the OO playing the Grand ol Duke of York (letting them march down the hill and only half way up..)

The OO want to walk where they aren't wanted...

GARC are the only "micro group" that IMO has come up with a credible solution to the stand off at Twaddel. Their proposal is when the OO get to the Ballysillan Road, instead of walking down the Crumlin Road, they turn right and walk down Fourth River, which takes the parade to the Ballygomartin Road/Woodvale Park..They cut across the park and down the Shankill..

And then there wont be any need to police a caravan parked illegally on council land.

Emmett, muppets, tripe? Are you for real. Garc have a right to follow their convictions. No doubt they don't see what they are trying to do as "tripe". If you called me a Muppet because of my beliefs I sir would kick the fuck out of you. Next time you would think before opening your mouth. How are you so sure that these people have no support?. In 1916 Dublin would you have been one of the spitters on the footpath as the volunteers were marched to the fireingsquad?. Because you disagreed with their methods. Would you have classed them as " muppetts"? Maybe you would like to see these people interned then they could do no more harm?. Republicans support republicans, not slate them on public forums.
Saying that if I had written the article I would have been a bit more diplomatic especially near the end. The support ,I think ,would have been greater.

While not an Ardoyne mural Emmett... Who gave permission for this mural

Let's look at it like this. Ardoyne has a small micro clique of dissidents who flock from various ares Lurgan etc. they seem to hangout in the shamrock social club and just like the provies of past era if you happend to call into question any of their policy your in danger of a punch in the mouth. Who in the community elected these people to represent the wider area? They have had more infighting than the IPLO fer feck sake. The question is do the see themselves as a residents committee or a revolutionary group? Bunch of clowns if ya ask me.

Emmett Grogan said...

I see pat murphy would use the fists right n handy if you questioned his established beliefs. he probably kick me up and down some dark street until my blood and piss flowed to signal an end to his mauling. The community needs more like ya pat. fair play son. Now away back to the bookies and give my head peace.

Emmet,

There is not enough bogroll in Ireland to wipe up the shite you come out with; I think you would get your gub smacked no matter where you went. Did some bird from Ardoyne reject you?

So much for claiming to support the working class and then take a selective shite on the people of Ardoyne, just another Free State dummy tit with no balls may Ardoyne shite upon you.

What question would you want me to ask them that you are afraid to ask go to bed and hope you grow a pair by the morning.

You cross Emmett?.

Tain, away round to the shamrock club and chat shite with the other feisty rebels yer a buck eejit by the sounds of it.

Slow down.... This link is almost six hours of un interupted coverage from RT TV that was originally broadcast live this year July 12th 2015... (there is no commentary). And it shows the PSNI setting up their "barricades" on the Woodvale Road and everything else that happened in between such as at 1hr 40 the parade and several bands sing and play the Sash followed by a barrage of bricks, bottles and what ever else at a British police force.

You could fast foward Emmett until 1hr 49 mins were the deeply religious, non sectarian Orange Order play the famine song

easily within ear shot of Holy Cross Monastry.

Tim Pat Coogan in his book said about the famine...

"Back in Famine time, the same potato crop disease occurred most heavily in Scotland, outside Ireland, yet there were relatively few casualties as the landowners and government ensured, for their own sakes as much as anything, that there was no mass death.

That was not the case in Ireland, where a very different mentality prevailed. The damned Irish were going to get what they deserved because of their attachment to Catholicism and Irish ways when they were refusing to toe the British line. Protestant and Catholic will freely fall and the land will be for the survivors."

Emmett I don't know how well you know the geography of the place but basically were the PSNI cordon is, just behind there is Woodvale Park. All GARC are asking is go across the park, use Forth River (runs parallel to the Crumlin Road) and out through Ballysillian.

Isn't it also possible Emmett that Tain and Pat or maybe even several members of GARC are having a quiet pint the Shamrock try to figure out how to convince the OO/PUL community the merits in GARC's proposal? Everyone knows once the Welfare Reform bill gets the rubber stamp, every one (Catholic, Protestant & Dissenter) will be worse off and the 12/15 million it has cost so far to police a caravan could be better spent else where.

Emmet,

clearly, you are not from Ardoyne no one I know would be enthusiastic or energetic to call the Sham the Shamrock.

Your comments are muddled and unsure Jasus you can’t even decide if I am a buck Eegit or not. I will enlighten you I hold a Doctorate in Head-Case-Ology which is greater or lesser than Arseholery and slightly somewhere relative to Buck-Eegitry I mastered all three in primary school.

You mistake the Quill for a bog a suggestion empty your bowels before you grace the Quill as your internal waste exits your mouth in the boring gobshite manner.
Not to worry big lad you will float around here until you flush yourself away. At least other morons before you actually made some fair points and didn’t just weigh in wanting to fight out of their weight.

You probably should read your own shite as it is confusing and unsure you couldn’t care about GARC but you mouth off about them and worse the Ardoyne community. The Sunday world is not a good source to base your Lurgan etc... On, cough and splutter where comes after Lurgan.

Have you ever spoken with any member of GARC do they have a place in Ardoyne that would be for the locals to decide?

You see empty nuts the GARC statement comes across as insulated invitingly uninviting it is demandingly commanding perhaps not the most subtle way of reaching out. Will I go hide under my bed just in case the boogey men got their big boy feelings hurt, no?

Try debating the statement instead of repeating newspaper snippets as that is all it is scraps. I would go toe to toe with you if you were a challenge but you already lost and it would be pointless to scrap with one who has yet to master the art of insult.

In other words you are a bore anyways invite me to your watering hole and I will buy you a few or a plenty few that way you might make sense.

A feisty rebel hmm, if I had to choose between being a rebel or a kneeler like yourself, as a self confessed head case I would have to be a rebel minus the feisty never did like that word. Right, Big Lad that should be enough to solve at least one conundrum for you, I am an unrepentant Buck Eegit that places you beneath the ranting of a fool.
