|The late Peggy O'Hara (centre)|
Peggy was a woman of great renown among the republican confraternity, known not only as the mother of INLA Hungerstriker Patsy O’Hara, who died in the Long Kesh Hungerstrike of 1981, but for her own commitment, in her own right, to the cause of a united and free Ireland.
Again, our thoughts are with the family, with Sean-Seamus, Tony, Elizabeth and the wider O’Hara family circle, and we offer them our deepest sympathies.
We ask that all member of the 1916 Societies attend the Funeral tomorrow morning where possible, leaving her home, 35 Templegrove, at 9.20am for Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower at 10am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.
