Christy Walsh Hunger Strike: Day 15

Christy Walsh on Day 15 of his hunger strike with a copy of an email he sent this morning to Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson and his deputy, Martin McGuinness.

Dear Mr Robinson and McGuinness

Today marks my 15th day on Hunger-strike.

In the week running up to the 31st May 2012 Hearing I asked Mr Winters why my lawyers were seemingly being furtive with me? I asked if the case was going ahead as we had all agreed that it would or if they were planning to drop anything? Mr Winters responded on 29th May re-assuring me that my case was going to be fully ventilated as my lawyers agreed it would be.

Christy

Nothing furtive at all?

Why would I /the firm /counsel be interested in downsizing or diluting your case?

That implies a level of connivance with the legal reps for the other parties which im afraid we just don’t accept.

My lawyers did not represent me as they had assured me. Throughout the Hearing Mr Winters was at pains repeatedly telling me that Karen Quinlivan QC was not following his instructions. He also claims to have been intimidated by David Ford and has informed me that he was/is concerned for his personal safety.

Have either of you even asked David Ford to refer the evidence of prosecutorial misconduct to the Criminal Justice Inspectorate?

If I have it all wrong then why not have my claims properly investigated?  If you both believe that your Justice Minister is a man of good character and integrity then what have you, or David Ford, got to fear from any investigation?

Yours Sincerely
Christy Walsh

People interested in this case should consider writing to their local elected reps and newspapers. Ford and the British are hoping it will wither on the vine.
