Keep RFE on Air

Sandy Boyer with a further appeal on behalf of the radical new York radio station Radio Free Eireann.

Radio Free Eireann will be back on the air this Saturday, October 12th, from 1-2 pm to raise funds to try to ensure the survival of WBAI 99.5 FM and wbai.org which has hosted us for the past 33 years. We will be very grateful for whatever contribution you can make, however large or small.

If you can contribute $100 we will be happy to thank you with a DVD of the award winning documentary Bernadette, Notes on a Political Journey, about Bernadette Devlin McAliskey. It combines decades old archival footage with extensive original interviews with Bernadette. It has only been seen in the US at a sold out screening at the New York Irish Film Festival.

The dvd is available nowhere else. Radio Free Eireann is only able to offer it because of our decades of collaboration with Bernadette.

A big thank you to everyone who donated last Saturday. Thanks to you we were able to raise nearly $3,000 for WBAI.

We don’t know what the future holds for Radio Free Eireann or WBAI. But the more we can raise the better our chances will be.

Gerry Conlon will be Radio Free Eireann's featured guest this Saturday, October 12, from 1-2 pm New York time as we continue to try to raise funds to sustain WBAI, 99.5FM and wbai.org

Gerry has just returned from the appeal of the Craigavon 2, who were framed for killing a member of the PSNi. He will report on the latest developments.

We will also be playing excerpts from the award winning documentary "Bernadette: Notes on a Political Journey" which we will provide as a thank you gift to everyone who contributes at least $100.

Please try to give as generously as you can to keep WBAI and Radio Free Eireann on the air. You can either give by phone or online at wbai.org.

    Thank you very much.

I just want to thank everyone who contributed for WBAI on Radio Free Eireann in the last two weeks. We were able to raise nearly $3,000 each week which is a remarkable achievement.

Don't forget that on Saturday October 26th we'll be interviewing Gerry Conlon live from Rocky Sullivan's. Right after the show, we'll be screening "In the Name of the Father" starring Daniel Day Lewis as Gerry Conlon.
