Bilious Baxter

Below is a link to a very thought provoking article in Counterpunch by Eamon McCann. It raises serious questions about the nature of policing in the North and in particular the role of the rabid former RUC operative, Norman Baxter. Well worth a read as it provides insight into the motivations determining the PSNI gusto for selectively addressing the past.

Baxter used to think that he was the lion-king whilst he was in uniform-but he took his pay-off and now does his shouting from the outside- his choice to enjoy his money and to sit on his fence-he is just another tooth-less tiger these days-

Excellent post Eamon Mc Cann is always worth listening /reading,I think Baxter and his cronies will have to leave Afghanistan ,like the Americans in Vietnam with their tails between their legs, the Taliban are a different kettle of fish than the prm,and have a determination that so few in the leadership of the prm ever had,Baxter and his cronies are the opposite side of the coin of which Adams and his cronies occupy ,both sides are not in the slightest bit interested in justice or truth there only ambition is to increase the size of their already over inflated ego,s.

Michaelhenry,

don't bet on him being that toothless. It is people like him that SF are referring to when it mentions the 'dark side' of policing; the type that is recolonising policing in the North.

AM-

I know what you mean about Baxter the police reject who took the money and ran- but Baxter did run away from policing and all he can do now is be a mouth for the bad officers who dont want any negative publicity- [ in case it effects their promotion in the p.s.n.i or other big jobs going ] ironic that they would want promotion in a police that they now despise-

" recolonising policing " thats the first i heard of that term- and its not a bad one-

Mickeyboy yours mates in qsf didnt see the 300 plus ex ruc getting jobs in some very sensitive posts as civilian workers, they said not a dickeybird ,nada nothing, zilch, untill Brian Feeney flaged it up, now the same is about to happen with the prison wardens,ie large payoffs to bigoted bastards and then re hired its a cert, they must have been to busy kissing Paisleys ass,

Marty-

There is nothing perfect or easy about policing, there are millions of people around the world in some great countrys who still would hate or not trust their own police force- by the way i agree with most of your last post regarding the money- but if you cant kill them all-buy them all-
If kissing paisleys Ass put him in hospital- why stop kissing-

Lol Mickeyboy I know what I,d like to put up Paisleys ass and it would require a fuse. if buying of either the ruc or the screws would get rid of those sectarian bigots then I for one could just about live with that, but a golden handshake to buy their country pads and then back to doing what they do best ie,brutalising the prisoners, is not acceptable, if it is allowed to happen, then qsf supporters seriously need to take a long hard look at the party they are given their support to dont you think a cara.

I know its of post but can anyone here suggest how Martyboy Mc Guinness is going to make up the £97K that would be outstanding in his election campaign, rembering that he stood as an independent, and therefore not a qsf problem!
